Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
The psalm joins confident thanksgiving with an urgent request for triumph in battle. Its praise looks back to divine faithfulness while its plea looks forward to conquest over entrenched opposition. The strong city and Edom stand as the sought victory that only divine leading can secure.
