Psalms 109:2
For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
The speaker here is Christ, lifting His voice against the Jewish priests and rulers who set themselves against Him. It was in return for His love that they turned to become His adversaries. Their wicked and deceitful mouths were opened wide against Him, and they spoke falsehood about Him with lying tongues.
They encircled Him with words of hatred and made war upon Him without any cause. For good they paid Him back with evil, and for love with hatred. Lifted up in pride and arrogance over their exalted privileges, they laid claim to the promises and to the temple as belonging to themselves, even while they separated themselves from God. By that course they loaded upon themselves the cloud of retribution.
