David Kneels in Prayer While Men Mock Himby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 109:25

I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

Psalm 109:25 belongs to an imprecatory psalm whose harsh language is predictive, God's inspired pronouncement against the wicked, not David's personal vindictiveness or wish for harm. It predicts God's retributive wrath and tribulation coming upon evildoers and the enemies of God's church. Its punishments express divine justice upon those whose evil lives and intentions deserve them, including those who sought to bring such punishments on others. It is a plea for divine justice that those who plot wickedness against the innocent should receive the fruit of their own actions.

The verse describes one become a reproach with onlookers shaking their heads at him, fulfilled in Christ as a reproach to those who looked on him. This was accomplished when people mocked Jesus as He hung on the cross, reviling Him during His crucifixion.
