Psalms 110:3
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
In the day of his power, when God exercises his saving power, he makes his people willing to serve and obey him. That power works through the Holy Spirit, and it is striving, surrendered people who receive the promise, for when they submit to Christ and are filled with his Spirit the Saviour saves them. The Spirit gives souls divine energy that brings those dead in sin to new life and transforms them into new persons. Those thus transformed abandon sin and put it away, live as Christ lived and live for Christ, have their wills brought into harmony with God's will, obey Christ as their leader, live in harmony with God, and are no longer controlled by Satan.
The Spirit opens eyes blinded by the enemy to see the ugliness of worldliness in the light of Christ's character revealed through the truth, turning people from error toward the truth. This willingness comes when the Holy Spirit works through messengers who live by the truth they teach, pray, trust God, and obey his commands. Unwillingness in the day of God's power is illustrated by the Jews, who had a special opportunity with heaven working on the hearts of kings to carry out the decree of Cyrus and restore the temple, but proved unwilling and let discouragement and personal interests delay the work. Willingness to give time and resources for the work of building a meeting house is an example of the Spirit of the Lord moving upon people and making them willing.
The image of dew and youth refers to the vigor and freshness of youth, whose service Jesus desires. Young people who give their fresh energy to Jesus Christ while youth is fresh are to be trained as missionaries and taught self-denial to advance God's work. They may serve him, become heirs of immortality, grow into noble men and women despite surrounding moral corruption, and in Christ be free and belong to the light rather than darkness.
