Psalms 111:5

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

The verse stands amid praise of works that are great and honorable and glorious, with a righteousness that endures, and of wonderful works made to be remembered, and of verity and judgment whose sure commandments stand fast forever in truth and uprightness. It reveals the Lord as gracious and full of compassion. He gives meat and food to all who fear and reverence Him.

He is Saviour and great High Priest, bearing the names of all His people upon His heart in the holy place. He remembers every word by which He has encouraged His people to trust Him. He will ever remember and keep His covenant in mind.

His provision reaches even youth who practice self-denial while learning that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. He is the exalted God who dwells in unapproachable light and to whom alone the name reverend belongs. Sinful mortals who take reverend to themselves rob God and exalt themselves to equality with God instead of remaining meek and lowly before His holiness.
