A Man Gives Bread to the Poorby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 112:5

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

The good person is marked by generosity and mercy, showing favor to others and readily lending to meet their need. That same goodness appears in the careful wisdom with which he orders his personal business, guiding his affairs with discretion as one managing what has been entrusted to him. Such generosity is practical and redemptive, expressed in giving of means and in laboring for the salvation of others, especially by sharing material resources with the poor. It also requires faithful stewardship of every endowment, using both spiritual and temporal gifts responsibly instead of wasting them.
