Psalms 112:6

Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Surely he shall not be moved forever means the righteous remain steadfast and unshaken. Everlasting remembrance means the righteous will be remembered forever, kept in lasting memory without end. They are so remembered because even after death their good and holy works, words, and example continue to influence others. That continuing influence keeps reflecting light into the lives of others and shedding light on the world after they have died.

This enduring reflection is like the glow of a setting sun that still illuminates the mountain peaks after the sun itself has gone down. When read alongside 2 Corinthians 9, the verse connects this enduring remembrance with generous giving to the poor. In that connection the giver's goodness endures, as expressed in the related words that his righteousness remains forever.
