A Delivered Man Lifts the Cup of Salvationby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 116:17

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

The sacrifice of thanksgiving is giving thanks aloud, lifting the voice in thanksgiving and making melody to God with both heart and voice. To call upon the name of the Lord in this sense is not to hold peace and remain silent. It is to gratefully acknowledge His wondrous love whenever that love is felt and realized under the outpouring of His Spirit. Such acknowledgment is made with childlike simplicity and humility, and with a single eye to His glory, in contrast to a mere form of godliness without power. This thanksgiving sets the feet firmly upon the Rock of ages, bringing abiding support and consolation and repose in God with unshaken confidence.
