For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORDendureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
The verse is a joyful song of praise celebrating God's great merciful kindness toward His people and the everlasting endurance of His truth. It was sung by Jesus together with His disciples before they left the upper chamber. Its declaration that truth endures forever means that truth will keep shining and will continue to be proclaimed through faithful messengers. Even when criticized and scorned, that truth shines more brightly when it is closely examined and tested.
