Psalms 119:72

The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

The mention of the mouth identifies the law as spoken and given by God Himself.
It belongs to a psalm that exalts God's law, standing among other verses that describe the value and wonder of His testimonies.
The law is better and more valuable than thousands of gold and silver, than great wealth, and than all material riches, to be treasured above them.
It sets forth the sacredness of God's law and its supreme worth above earthly riches.

God's Word gives the principles of righteousness to guide life, distinguishing right from wrong and truth from error.
Its principles produce integrity, diligence, temperance, purity, and thrift, which are better capital for a young person entering business than any amount of money, even in a competitive and unscrupulous business world.
The law is to be delighted in, loved, meditated on, and kept as counselor and song and as light and a source of wisdom and understanding.

God's words are worth more than gold or silver, and Christ's words are to be treasured in mind and heart and kept in memory as a greater possession than earthly wealth.
The verse is to be proclaimed with solemn earnestness in a large public setting, joined with the plea for the Lord to act because His law has been made void while His commandments are loved above gold.
Its message belongs to the time when the wickedness of the world has reached the point where the Lord will certainly intervene, after long patience and merciful warning, when probation ends and divine judgment surely follows.
