Psalms 119:81

My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

The verse stands in a psalm that exalts God's law and presents His Word as the rule for life. That Word lays down the principles of righteousness and clearly distinguishes right from wrong and truth from error. His testimonies lead minds to that Word. To faint for salvation expresses a deep desire for God to bring deliverance and let the light of His presence shine, a longing for His salvation that can be felt as faintness and sadness while the soul still hopes in His word.
