Psalms 119:90

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

God's faithfulness extending to every generation is displayed in the establishing of the earth and in causing it to abide. The enduring stability of the created earth is not accident or mere continuity but the direct result of that faithfulness kept from age to age. What appears as fixed natural order is therefore testimony that divine faithfulness upholds the world He founded.

The laws operating in nature do not act by themselves, but serve as servants and instruments under divine direction. They have no independent power to sustain or govern, but function only as means through which a higher will is executed. To understand nature rightly is to see behind its regular workings the active control that employs them.

God is constantly engaged in upholding the things He has created and in working through nature according to His own will. By that unceasing upholding all things continue to this day according to His appointed ordinances. The permanence of earth and of natural order is thus present proof of an ongoing divine sustaining action.
