A Farmer and His Son Rejoice in the First Rainby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 135:6

Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Whatever the Lord desires is accomplished throughout heaven and earth and sea and every depth because He unceasingly sustains all that He has brought into existence and employs it in His service. Created things do not continue by any power of their own but are held in being moment by moment to fulfill His purpose. His will is carried out by means of the laws of nature, which operate as tools in His hand rather than as independent forces. Those laws possess no self-acting power but function only as He directs them. In its regular operation nature bears witness to an intelligent mind that is present and actively at work within it. Every movement in the natural world proceeds in harmony with His will.
