Psalms 138:3

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

In the very day a person cries or calls to God, He answers that same day and strengthens with strength in the soul within. Drawing near to God and watching and waiting for Him daily brings power to the faint and renews inner might. This answering is encouragement and hope for weary, discouraged, downcast and worried souls. It lifts them through increased faith and prayer to thanksgiving, praise, rejoicing, living hope and living service.

God's servants praise Him for answering them and giving strength to the soul. The verse urges every soul to seek true conversion of heart and then to labor for the salvation of precious souls. The strength keeps those washed white in the blood of the Lamb sweet, firm and stayed in conversion under severe trials and resistance. In them it reveals divine grace and honors the One who gave His precious life to redeem them. With prayer and watchfulness those so strengthened overcome and receive Christ's welcome to the city of God in the day of final reckoning.
