Psalms 139:19

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

The psalm containing this petition presents God as knowing all things and being present in every place. In the verse itself the prayer is that God will slay the wicked, joined with a deliberate renunciation of fellowship with violent and bloodthirsty men. A true Christian therefore lives with a lively and abiding sense of that omniscient and omnipresent God, preferring His will and His favor to the approval of people. That renunciation is to be carefully weighed and taken to heart when resisting association with those who love pleasure more than God.
