Psalms 140:4
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
The verse is a prayer pleading with the Lord for protection. It asks to be kept from the hands of the wicked and to be preserved from the violent man. It has in view people who have formed a deliberate purpose to disrupt and overthrow the speaker's goings and way of life.
