Psalms 141:5

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

The smiting of the righteous and the reproof of the righteous are a kindness, like excellent oil poured upon the head. That oil does not break the head, for plain words spoken in order to help are meant to lift a person nearer to God and not to crush or wound. David showed this when he humbly received Abigail's correction and acknowledged that it had turned him aside from an unwise and evil course. Such correction is to be received with gratitude, with blessing upon those who give it.
