Psalms 141:8

But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

The eyes being toward God are a deliberate turning of the gaze to God the Lord in direct and personal looking to him. That looking is trust placed in him and dependence resting on him. The plea not to leave the soul destitute is a cry raised from emptiness and need, asking him not to leave the speaker destitute and helpless and abandoned. It pictures coming to Jesus helpless and longing for his life-giving fullness, a fullness that satisfies the needy and then flows through those who receive it to bless others.
