Psalms 144:15

Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

Happy and blessed is the people whose God is the LORD. Historically this was the happiness of the line of Shem, because Jehovah was their God, as the chosen people and the people of God's covenant and of the promised Redeemer, from whom Abraham and the people of Israel would descend and through whom Christ would come. This blessedness is the Lord's love for every soul who believes on Jesus with full assurance of faith, not with surface faith.

In such believers God beholds the image of His only begotten Son, and He loves them with a love greater than language can express, enfolds them in the arms of His love, and rejoices over them. He will not forsake those who trust in Him amid Satan's confederacy, persecution and apostasy, but shines light upon them from the sanctuary above, and their day of deliverance is not far distant. Such happiness for His mercies and unbounded goodness should be expressed in praise. Yet this praise is lacking, and His people need to awaken to a realizing sense of His goodness.
