Psalms 145:5

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Praising God means meditating on the glorious honor of His majesty and speaking and declaring it together with His wondrous works. His majesty is glorious and His works are wondrous, and these are fitting subjects for praise and declaration of His greatness. This speaking belongs to one generation lauding His works to another and declaring His mighty acts, as the praise due to a God who is great and greatly to be praised and whose greatness is unsearchable. It is joined to speaking of the might of His terrible acts, declaring His greatness, uttering the memory of His great goodness, and singing of His righteousness. His mercies and goodness are so abundant that people should awaken to them and praise Him.

Beholding Christ's glory and God's wondrous love compels speaking of His glorious honor, majesty, and wondrous works and not merely contemplating them. Musing on that love kindles a fire that cannot stay silent. Beholding by faith the wonderful plan of redemption, the glory of the only begotten Son of God, and the unfathomable love shown in Christ's death on the cross of Calvary so that sinners might not perish but have everlasting life gives words to extol the Saviour's glory and declare His excellencies. Everyone in His temple joins in speaking of His glory.
