Psalms 146:10

The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.

The verse closes the psalm by declaring that the Lord reigns forever through all generations as Zion's God and calling for praise. This closing praise follows assurances that God helps those who trust in him and cares for people in need. Lasting rule belongs to God rather than to human beings.

In prayer the declaration is joined to the worship and praise of God's creatures, the unity of his people, joy for the land and gladness for the city, and the exaltation of David's servant and the light of Jesse's son. Because he so reigns, people are to act under his supervision, accept his standard, and bring all decisions and plans to him for approval, with his holiness and justice keeping them from unprincipled actions.
