The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
The Lord lifts up the meek and casts the wicked down to the ground. The meek whom He raises are those who recognize their own weakness and put their trust in Him. This lifting belongs to His larger work of healing the brokenhearted and restoring fallen humanity. To that restoring work He brings infinite power.
That power is joined with infinite understanding. He takes pleasure in those who fear Him and hope in His mercy. This care for the brokenhearted and the meek is reason to praise Him with thanksgiving.
