Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
The call is for praise to the Lord to sound from the heavens and from the heights. It summons the heavens and all that is in their heights to give Him praise. Read with the next two verses, this call is answered by angels and all the heavenly hosts, together with the sun, moon, and stars, in praise to God. That praise of creation swells into a united chorus of praise and thanksgiving that proclaims His majesty and glory.
