Psalms 148:6

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

God has established the created order to endure forever and ever by an unchanging decree that shall not pass away. The things he made remain in their places and serve him, moving in their appointed courses and carrying out his word and fulfilling it. This regularity is not self-acting but depends on his continuing power and active will. In the psalm's summons to praise, the sun, moon, stars, and forces of nature are called to praise him, and their ordered activity displays his majesty and glory. Since even things without life or reason testify in this way, their praise rebukes people with understanding if they remain silent.
