Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
Mountains and all hills with fruitful trees and all cedars stand among the works of the natural world summoned to praise God. Though lacking reason, these created things still render tribute to their Creator and bear witness to His majesty. That witness stands as a rebuke to human beings who possess understanding yet withhold praise from Him. The beauty of the trees and the other natural things so called to praise has power to turn the mind away from suffering and toward God. To hear birds joining in that praise of God in nature brings blessing.
