Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Israel is to rejoice in God as its Maker, and the children of Zion are to be joyful in their King. Gladness in His creative care belongs together with joy in His rule. Joy in the King is shown by praising the Lord instead of exalting self. That King is Jesus, the living Advocate and Savior, and His people express their joy by speaking of His saving power and sounding His praises.
