He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
God hears the voice and cry of His distressed child out of His temple. Because He delights in him, He delivers him and brings him forth into a broad, free place of freedom. In sickness and hardship this deliverance is to be recalled as evidence of loving care to encourage trust in God. That trust is exercised by looking to Jesus and recounting His lovingkindnesses for encouragement, by longing for blessing with the heart going out after God while trembling at His word, and by casting body, soul and spirit upon the Lord in prayer through wakeful hours day and night.
God brings His people and servants out of strait, narrow and trying places and circumstances into a place of freedom, opportunity and relief where the way is open before them. When they move forward in faith and pray earnestly and trust Him, He opens the way before them and delivers them. He may test their confidence by asking them to move forward in faith before the way is clear. For His servants, the opened way provides a way to do the work He has given them to do.
The Lord would have brought the medical workers into a place of safety and freedom from the enemy's snare if they had heeded His instruction, repented and shown fruits of repentance. He delivers from discouragement and the bondage of darkness and sets feet in a large place of light and freedom. There is no walking in darkness but having the light of life, because in Him is no darkness at all. The large place means streams of light from the heavenly Father and the illuminated presence of the Lord.
The deliverance brings spiritual and physical strength that qualifies for the great work ahead. It comes through earnest wrestling prayer and living active faith that penetrates clouds of darkness and lets gleamings of glory through. It calls forth high praise that glorifies God.
