For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
God Himself will light the lamp and enlighten the darkness, dispelling it and bringing light amid difficulty. That lighting gives clarity and help when the way is hard. It is held in confident trust that He guides and strengthens His servant, enabling him to go forward amid difficulty. For the afflicted it is a comforting promise that God saves those in distress. He gives strength to overcome trouble and to pass through obstacles that seem impossible.
