Psalms 20:5
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.
God's people find joy in the deliverance He provides, raise their standards openly in the name of their God, and rely on the Lord to grant what they ask in prayer. The declaration is a confident assurance that triumph comes through the God of their salvation and that victory is received directly from Him.
Together with Psalm 19, this word is entrusted to God's people as a precious promise to be accepted and a solemn warning to be believed, intended to awaken them to their true spiritual condition. It urges every soul to bow in humility of heart and mind before God, to remain alert to the dangers that surround those who are careless about eternal interests, and to diligently search the Scriptures. God's Word itself is to educate and direct the mind, so that understanding comes from what the Scriptures declare.
