Psalms 25:21

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

Integrity and uprightness are asked from God to preserve the one who waits on Him. Upright character keeps safe those who wait. The request belongs to a prayer to be sent heavenward.

The verse reveals the greatness of God and is given to be read and learned. Waiting on God means relying on Him rather than putting personal convenience or advantage first, for earthly riches and comfortable surroundings cannot bring salvation and do not prove greater goodness or piety. Such waiting means being a Christian in every sense of the word. It bears a powerful witness for the truth and gives no aid to Satan's work. It studies God's Word deeply like a miner digging for hidden ore, experiences new conversion, and refuses to turn aside from guarding God's sacred principles, because Satan is determined to break down the fortifications of truth.

The verse calls all to take their stand under the rule of Christ rather than work on the side of Satan, which brings fearful loss at the last great day.
