Psalms 28:8

The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

The Lord is the strength of His people and the saving strength of His anointed, giving strength and saving help to His people and to His anointed. The psalm belongs to the telling of the rich blessings God bestows upon His people and their poor return for all His benefits. That strength is reason for trust and help, for good courage, for gladness and rejoicing, for praise and for freedom from complaint.

It is felt as support for service in the midst of weakness and demanding labor. Depending on God and trusting Him makes His people a blessing who spread light, for they have no sufficiency in themselves. They need grace each day to live carefully and to cultivate character that leads others to Jesus. Through faith and growth in Christlike character they become more like Christ their living head and are made complete in Him.
