Psalms 31:4

Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

The verse is a prayer spoken in a life-and-death struggle with the enemy. It pleads for God to pull the speaker out of the net laid privily for him. In that hidden snare the speaker relies on God as his strength.
It gives prophetic insight into the inner experience of Christ in suffering and temptation. That inner life is one of conflict with the adversary and dependence on the Father for deliverance.
It stands among the psalms showing that Christ shared human suffering, including sickness and weakness. In that fellowship with humanity He poured out His life unto death.
It belongs to a psalm to be brought into personal experience as God's children meet daily tasks and trials. Its words are for human experience, strengthening the soul in trial. They point to God as able and willing to save.
