Psalms 34:22

The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

The Lord redeems the soul and life of His servants, and none who trust in Him shall be left desolate or forsaken. This promise belongs to those of broken heart and contrite spirit, whose hearts are subdued and humble, who fear Him and trust Him even while mourning over their wretchedness. To such He is nigh to save and redeem rather than abandon them to desolation, showing His tender regard for them and that He does not judge unrighteously. In this way the promise gives hope of salvation and deliverance from sin, with assurance of God's care and deliverance for His people, even deliverance from all fears.

Every verse of Psalm 34 holds important lessons and should be read in full, together with Psalm 62, especially by those who need them and by those not walking in the light. Dwelling on one's own condition and talking and mourning over misery only accumulates pain and distress. The remedy is to seek the Lord, who hears and delivers, and in His name the enemy and adversary of the soul is rebuked.
