Psalms 35:27

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

Psalm 35 stands among David's songs that teach trust and confidence in God and give assurance that wickedness will ultimately be overthrown and good will triumph. Its cry expresses God's justice rather than personal disposition or a desire for revenge. The verse belongs to a prophetic picture in which David foresaw and felt something of Christ's inner experience in his struggles with the enemy, and reading it in this light gives a fuller sense of Christ's suffering and his ability to help those who are tempted. It shows that God takes pleasure in the well-being and prosperity of his servant, and this goodness gives reason to magnify him. Shouting for joy and being glad by those who favor the righteous cause, and continually declaring the greatness of the Lord, is part of the sincere devoted service God values as a response to his abiding presence and a way of manifesting his life.
