The wicked arm themselves with unsheathed swords and readied bows for violent attack. Their purpose is to bring down the poor and the needy and to put to death those whose way of life is upright. This is fulfilled in the time of trouble, when the ungodly pursue the saints determined to kill them. They lift their swords to strike, but the weapons break and fall powerless, unable to carry out the intended slaughter.
