Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
God searches out and knows the hidden secrets and thoughts of the heart. His knowledge reaches a person's concealed dangers and temptations. He knows unconfessed wrongs and lack of sincere repentance even when those involved, like these women, think that satisfying people is enough. Because God knows the secret corruption of the heart, it should be confessed to Jesus rather than poured into the ears of finite, erring people, who cannot judge righteously unless guided by God's Spirit.
