Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
The girding of the sword upon the thigh is the arming of Christ Himself to ride forth for the deliverance of His captive people. This arming follows the end of His intercession, when He has finished pleading His blood and will hold out no longer, and He comes with the destroying angels. It occurs at the closing up, at the close of the time of trouble, with His appearing in the east. That appearing is preceded by the repeating of the signs, the making known of the day and hour, the boiling of the sea like a pot, and the shining of the faces of the saints as was Moses' face.
It comes at the decisive moment when heaven or hell and life or death are decided, when there will be no buying or selling. At that time He spreads a table in the wilderness for the faithful just and true, while those without the seal who have the mark of the beast and his image seek the lives of the saints, and for those who were once right but join the wicked it is too late. It brings perfect and entire deliverance when His people are caught up on the white cloud.
