Psalms 45:6

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

The throne is God's and Christ's throne and kingdom, enduring from everlasting to everlasting, forever and ever. It stands firm and immovable like mountains of brass. That eternal rule is inseparable from sacrifice, for the redeemed behold Christ's glory and praise Him as the Lamb who gave His life and redeemed them by His blood.

His purposes for His chosen people share that same permanence, and to those who look to the things that are not seen He is riches and fullness and power. The world begins with pomp and show and boasting that comes to nothing, while God's way makes the day of small things the beginning of the triumph of truth and righteousness. Therefore no one need be elated by a prosperous beginning or be cast down by apparent feebleness. To follow His directions is life unto life.
