Psalms 48:3

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

God is known within Zion's palaces as a refuge, a place where his protective presence is recognized. That knowledge belongs to Jerusalem itself, where rulers and visitors from many nations were present to witness the crucifixion. There Christ gave himself in self-sacrifice for humanity, laying down his life for the world. The assurance that God is a refuge stands alongside that sacrifice, holding out safety and shelter even in the shadow of the cross.
