Psalms 48:4

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

Together with the next verse, this verse portrays kings and other rulers assembling together to witness the crucifixion of Christ. They are described as gathering, seeing a momentous event, marveling, becoming troubled, and hurrying away. This was fulfilled at Passover, when people from many lands and representatives from nations around the world were gathered in Jerusalem. Those gathered included representatives of foreign courts, including kings, nobles, and princes. They witnessed Christ's death, and strangers carried the news and its impact to distant lands throughout the world.
