Psalms 5:11

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

The verse marks out rejoicing speech and character as what distinguishes the righteous from the unrighteous. By contrast, the wicked have no faithfulness in their mouth but speak lying, deceit, flattery, and wickedness, and God rejects them and destroys them. Those who put their trust in God rejoice and ever shout for joy because He defends them. Those who love God's name are joyful in Him. Trust in God's protection and love for His name are grounds for lasting joy even amid difficulties.
