Asaph Plays Cymbals Facing Zion at Sunriseby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 50:14

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Offer thanksgiving to God and faithfully pay vows to the Most High, with gratitude and keeping of commitments to Him as what is desired. Sacrifices are not asked as though He needed them, for all creation already belongs to Him. Thanksgiving is the fruit of willing obedience, and praising Him honors Him while acknowledging His power, His saving ability, and His constant mercy.

Giving to God includes bringing a thank-offering, especially from what remains after positive necessities are supplied, as an act of sacrifice and gratitude. A vow is a solemn promise made to God Himself, not merely to other people, and this includes pledges for building a place of worship, which are to be kept. Vows made to God must be paid faithfully, for to withhold what is owed to Him is dishonest, and He will repay those who act dishonestly toward Him.

Joined to the next verse, the call means that in trouble people should call on Him, He will deliver them, and they will glorify Him. This applies to trials and temptation: call on Him in trust, He will deliver, and deliverance will bring Him glory, while giving thanks and remaining faithful.
