Psalms 50:7

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

God addresses Israel as His own people, bidding them to listen while He Himself speaks and bears witness against them, declaring that He is God, indeed their God. This word is given when He gathers those who have made a covenant with Him by sacrifice, when the heavens declare His righteousness because God Himself is judge. It is spoken in the setting of judgment, summoning His people to hear His testimony and to face their accountability before Him.

The word asserts His authority over Israel and reveals His greatness. It is to be read together with Psalm 24 and Psalm 25 in order to learn how great God is. At the last great day it will apply to those working on Satan's side in anarchy and war and strife, who will see the fearful loss of souls caused by their failure to take their stand under the rule of Christ.
