The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
The rejoicing comes after God suddenly shoots at the wicked to wound them and makes their own tongues fall upon them, so that all men fear and declare the work of God and wisely consider His doing. It belongs to the promise that God will overthrow the wicked and make His work known. It means those who are righteous find gladness in the Lord and put their trust in Him, and all who are upright in heart exult.
This scripture will be literally fulfilled when everything that can be shaken is shaken so that what cannot be shaken may remain, when the Lord has a pure, holy people who stand the test. In light of that fulfillment, every believer now needs to search his heart as with a lighted candle.
