They enter into secret consultation together to devise and set concealed traps, assuring themselves that their scheming goes unobserved and asking who will detect them. Those hidden snares are deliberately laid for the perfect, for the upright in character.
This is prophecy that will meet a literal fulfillment. Its fulfillment comes in a shaking that removes everything that can be shaken, in order that only that which cannot be shaken may remain. That fulfillment lays bare the hidden wrongdoing of those who must stand to face God's judgment. Through it God will secure for Himself a pure, holy people who endure and stand the test. Therefore every believer now must search the heart and love the Lord with all heart and soul and strength and mind, and love the neighbor as self, that he may inherit eternal life.
