Psalms 67:4

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

The verse stands within a universal summons for all peoples to praise God, joined to the longing that His glory shall fill the whole earth. The gladness and singing of all nations are set in the context of His righteous rule over the peoples and nations of the earth. That righteous judging of the peoples and governing of the nations are the reason people everywhere are to be glad and sing for joy. The tongue is therefore to be used for praise and thanksgiving.
