Aaron Stretches His Rod and Frogs Cover Egyptby emmanuel_higgins

Psalms 78:45

He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

The psalm containing this account of flies and frogs is a recounting of the rich blessings God bestowed on His people and of their poor return for those benefits. Within that recounting, the sending of devouring flies and destroying frogs belongs to the record showing that the children of Israel worked constantly against a good God. Through disobedience they were brought into a condition that was the sure result of their own course of action. Under rebuke and chastisement they repented, yet under temptation they fell again through self-indulgence and self-gratification.
