Psalms 78:65

Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.

The verse stands in a psalm that recounts the rich blessings God bestowed on His people and their poor response to all those benefits.
In that account the children of Israel worked constantly against a good God.
The state they were brought into came as the sure result of their own disobedience.
Though they repented under rebuke and chastisement, they fell again under temptation, self-indulgence, and self-gratification.
