Psalms 8:9

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

The closing cry of how excellent the Lord's name is in all the earth comes after looking at God's works in the earth and the love shown to man. It follows beholding the heavens as the work of His fingers, with the moon and the stars He ordained, and asking over His mindfulness of man and His visitation of the son of man. It follows remembering that He made man a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor, that He set His glory above the heavens, and that He ordained strength out of the mouth of babes and sucklings to still the enemy and the avenger.

That declaration finds its fulfillment when Jesus comes a second time in the clouds of heaven in the glory of His Father with the holy angels, as deliverer and as king over all the earth. At that coming He receives the dominion over creation that was once entrusted to Adam and was forfeited by him. Then the animal kingdom is subdued to Him in universal peace, and the groaning and lamentation of creation give way to songs of praise and thanksgiving. Its very nature is changed, so that the earth is made very good again.
