Psalms 86:6

Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

Psalm 86 is attributed to the sons of Korah, inspired singers from the priestly tribe. The verse is a plea for Jehovah to give ear to prayer and to attend to the voice of supplications for mercy. He answers all who call upon Him in the day of trouble.

Such ready hearing expresses His goodness and plenteous mercy toward sinful and erring people. It expresses His readiness to forgive. It expresses His greatness and His wondrous works. This hearing distinguishes Him from all the gods claimed by men, for among them there is none like Him, He alone is God, and all the nations He made will come and worship Him and glorify His name.
